Sound Tube Question

Does the OEM Sound Tube lock or snap into the firewall?

Or does just sorta lay in there?

Thanks.

It’s a loose rubber like lock for sure.

I put the sti sound changer in there and it seemed like it would fall out but it’s still in there.

I left it installed to keep the correct part mated against the seal. Then I plugged the hose just upstream at the elbow in the engine bay.

You can plug the opening in the firewall with the plastic plug that goes in the glovebox cigarette lighter. It fits perfectly. I removed my tube and used the plastic plug to close the hole for the sound tube.

Thanks, all.

I just had just installed TRD Intake and that last piece of the Sound Tube fell out during the process. I couldn't make it "snap" back into that rubber hole. So I was just making sure I wasn't missing something. But it sounds like it just sort of lays in there.

Yes, it just lays in there, inside the rubber grommet that is in the hole in the firewall. It does not snap in. It just slides through, so don't worry about it too much.
