Michelin Pilot Super Sports
Swapped out stock Primacy's for some Pilot Super Sports and so far I am loving these tires. Really wanted to do dedicated wheels and tires for auto cross but wasn't in the budget this year. Testing the new skins on Sunday hopefully through the cones, but so far these tires have really raised the handling to a whole new level. Of course the downside is now I notice the lack of power a bit more but plenty of time to fix that. Figured I give the new rubber a shout out.

Our car lost around 7MPG switching from the OEM tires to the Z1 Star Specs or EHP equivalent.

Wow, 7 mpg! I will have to watch that and see what I loose. I still averaged 28 with snows and I can't imagine the Super Sports being worse than those for rolling resistance

FWIW I didn't see any mileage drop at all when I went from the Primacy to ExtremeContact DWs.

I can't imagine the PSS would be any different than the DW...maybe by .1-.2MPG at most.

I figured as much. Did you go wider or taller at all? My DW are stock 215/45R17.

I just came from Dunlop WS3D 205/50/17 winter tires and 150lbs of ballast to my 225/45/17 MPSS, so my mileage report will probably be wonky; also switched to a 5-6lb lighter wheel at the same time and I can't find weights for my winter tire. That said, I'm still getting ~30-35mpg on highway stints with steady throttle input at 65-70mph. My non-highway figures don't matter as I sit in traffic for my commute.

OEM tires are lightweight and LRR rated versus your stiff as (insert imagination here) ZII...but I'm betting you've been getting into the gas more too.

Could it be the diff and tranny motul gear 300 and 5-30 weight engine oil? I noticed less mpg with 5-30 then even more after i got my diff and tranny fluids flushed with gear 300 75-90 from motul. Could be just in my head though and i am just driving harder now.
