Actual automotive news. Check this out!
http://www.autonews.com/article/2016...after-stumbles
Reading this website has given me a massive amount of information about these cars, profit margins for buying them, and also validates or invalidates people's fears about the brand. Interesting read if no one has posted this before. |

subarus have several known faults, most dealing with the 2.5 ej engine. While that article sounds nice, we'll see when they fix things.

Overproduction will expose manufacturing related quality issues. Design flaws will be there regardless of quantity. That's why we get a warranty.

I hear range rovers are incredible. Just ask your local auto journalist. Probably find him at a soup kitchen.

Doesn't even touch on the twins anywhere in the article.
The twins are a minuscule part of the Fuji production schedule. The 4wd and turbo cars are the ones with teething trouble.

I'm confused. OP's post carries the distinct odor of a Hormel cannery, but he has almost 50 posts. Either he really writes exactly like a paid shill, or he's the most patient spammer I've ever seen.

the twins are the only cars that are built in japan with 95% japanese parts. They do talk about USA production issues more in this article. Looking at a sticker in a showroom for a WRX, it is clear they have a lot of Mystery Meat on their menu as far as where parts are built or sourced from.

If you look at the discussions below articles, they have long conversations about real numbers of various car dealer hold outs, what invoice means currently on various models, things about truecar, etc. The commenting people are clearly in the business, no mere speculation. This here frs/brz forum is really nice, nice people, but it takes reading like 10-12 replies (sometimes 5-6 pages) to find one reply that has some hard data on anything.

How can you tell where the parts are made looking at a sticker? All cars made everywhere are built with parts for other suppliers. That is the very industry I have been in for 30 years now. At one employer we made HVAC and window motors for Ford, GM, BMW, Jag, Volkswagen and Volvo. You want to know what was different between each car make? You can probably guess.

95% assembled in Japan maybe. All the stuff that requires sewing stitching is probably done by some poor kid in China. That is, almost all of the interior of the car produced by China put into the car by Japan. All the metal is most likely outsourced from other nations where they have abundance and cheap labour to extract. Japan is not about to use their own valuable resources for production to mass produce for the world.
Bottom line, the cars that come out of Japan are intrinsically about as Japanese as a mixed race dude born America who went to school in Japan. This isn't isolate to Japanese automobiles; almost everything in the world built from parts comes from different parts of the world. |
