Trd lowering spring bumpstop question.

Installed some trd coils today.

Everything went smoothly except the rear bumpstops confused me, When sliding it on, and i installed as per directions. Small hole up. It slid quite easily over the collar on the shock rod. And just is sitting on the bottom of shock rod ontop of the strut cylinder. The fronts were snug on collar couldnt be pushed over the collar so easily.

I tried to bring the bumpstop up over the collar. Tried to wedge it up with a flathead. I couldnt get it back up over the collar. On either rear shocks (yes happend on both:/ even trying to snug it. Just sloppily slid over. Without wasting time on bumpstops. Ended up installing them with bumpstops on bottom of shock rod. As it started raining and im working outside , in a sketchy neighborhood with vehicle on jackstands. Didnt want to leave it overnight. And i was against the clock.

Now i figured if the shock were to essentially bottom out, Or come close. The bumpstop will go back up into collar. As the collar and rod are just a few mm apart. Its not like bumpstop would get wedged. And the collar is snugged against the top hat. So the bump doesnt protect the collar in any way.

Right or wrong? Please and thanks

I should add the instructions state, "Install the new TRD bumper onto rear shock shaft" ..doesnt say snug to collar.

Anybody know if i should take them out again and really try to snug the bumpstops around collar. Lube it up. Haha. It would be possible. I tried but i didnt give it 100%. It would be easier if i could collapse the shock rod fully. Which id what bottoming out would do.

The cusco replacement struts have no collars. So bumpstops just sit at bottom?Name: IMG_7013.JPG

So are the rear bump stops supposed to sit on the collar or the bottom of the shaft?

Also can you order the nuts and bump stops separately?

Yes bump stops sit at the bottom of the shaft, the collar on the OE damper is to give a solid interface for the OE rear top hat, maybe to prevent the damper from bottoming out internally as well, the bumpstop should go right past it with little resistance.

You can probably find an individual part number for the bump stop but it's typically difficult to order pieces of a kit.
