Canadian '17 BRZ missing features?

Came across this in an "Ask Bark" piece on TTAC:
Quote:
I put a refundable deposit on a 2017 Subaru BRZ with a manual transmission in hopes of getting back into something that’s a bit more raw, but it seems Canadian customers are not receiving some ’17 updates and my wife hates being a passenger in it.
Now this is not from Bark himself but from the person seeking his car shopping advice.

Anyone heard what these supposed "missing updates" are? Sounds like BS to me, looking at the printed 2017 brochure for Canada it covers most of the major changes except the remapped Sport/Track setting (but the new button is there in the photos) and the changed rear drive ratio.

Update: just occurred to me, he's got to be talking a the lack of a Performance package here. No way to delete this thread....

LOL. I read his columns all the time. My buddy used to be the editor-in-chief of that site.

I was at Subaru Brampton yesterday peeking in the window of a '17 while in service. I really like some of the interior upgrades they have done, such as the leather hood over the gauge cluster, and the continuous leather trim piece on the dashboard (with red stitching) that goes around the radio. Definitely brings the interior a bit up-scale compared to the cheap shiny silver plastic dashboard trim that came on the "old" model.

I don't much like the "BRZ" stitching on the seats, or the fact that there are now buttons on the steering wheel, and the new rear wing is honestly kinda ugly, although again it's much better than the ugly Grand Am spoiler that came on the '13-'16 models.

Does Canada not get the Performance Package? That sucks.

Ironically enough the guys in the US are clambering for our padded dash.

It is deceiving if he phrased the lack of PP as missing features when the PP is offered in only one trim level and only MT. That pretty much limits the buyers to a certain group of people anyway.
