Yuzu 86: The Slow and Comfy Time Attack Daily

Current Setup:

Hey guys, as a few of you know I used to have a 10 Series. Sadly, it was taken out by a criminal running from the cops. Guy t-boned me at 60+ mph after running a red light, and I walked away unscathed after he had an armed standoff with the police for a solid twenty minutes. Luckily I wasn't even scraped or bruised in any way, shape, or form.

Fast forward after a month and a half of dealing with insurance, dealing with the police records, and then the other guy's insurance I finally came out on top. After so much waiting, testing, and potential fixing, my car was totaled when it failed the firewall stress test in two different spots. Funnily enough, my car totaled the BMW M6 that slammed into it. Insurance gave me the full sticker price of my car, covered all the costs of my mods and allowed me keep whatever I could, gave me additional credit with Toyota since I wanted another FRS, AND fully reimbursed me for all my troubles, towing, and rental issues I had to deal with during that time frame. They went from being terrible to downright flawless. Go figure.

A few days ago I hit up my local dealership to get a new Scion and wound up with the RS 1.0(I missed my DRL's and Dual Climate Control). Managed to haggle it down and come out the door with it being much cheaper than expected. All in all I saved $4K from the deal and still had more insurance money to spend.

While the RS 1.0 can never replace my 10 Series, it'll become an extension of what it could have been. Also yellow was never my top color choice, but it's growing on me more and more every day.

Over the next few months I'm going to mod it piece by piece; these next few weeks will see a lot tossed onto it at once, however.

Sorry about what happened, but sounds like you came out ok!

I feel same way about the yellow...I didn't like it at first, but it has grown on me.

Really I think the twins look pretty great in any color.

BTW it sounds like you got to take stuff off of your 10 Series. You salvage much off it? Those wheels didn't look damaged to me.

I managed to salvage a few things off it, oddly enough. My coils, wheels, spacers, exhaust, FP, OP, header, tail lights, 4th brake light, and console plaque were all salvageable. The only issue was with the wheels as the driver side front had major "curb rash" from the accident. I'll be keeping it as a spare in the trunk if I can.

I just know that your FRS is from the same dealership as my FRS. Dublin Toyota "Doin' it Right" dealer plates.

I thought I recognized that plate. I can't believe you talked them down that much from the price. They were pretty hard-ass when I went to negotiate and I ended up getting a BRZ instead.

Scion is notorious for not haggling. When I bought my 10 Series they were foot deep in the mud about everything. Even then I was amazed I managed to talk them down. With Dublin, I think insurance paying them directly made them more comfortable cutting me a deal. Paid it off in full after talking them down and they couldn't have been happier to lose money on the sticker price. I guess full payment promises make them weak at the knees and brake pads.

As I said before, little bits of progress here and there......BUT..... I managed to rescue my Valentis and drop them in.

Also removed the Scion rear bumper applique, added in the TRD vinyl from Dr. Sticker, and even tossed in my Raceseng Slammer Shift Knob.

In addition, shoutout to YoSpeed for making me such a great center console plaque. SIEG ZEON.

EDIT:

Quick night shot looks so good.

Am I understanding correctly in that you talked down the price of an FRS? Everything I've read says they could get fined and/or lose their ability to sell Scions by doing that. Or am I wrong?

Yup! I was able to do so since insurance was paying for me. It's guaranteed money with no potential back flow. i was able to do it before with my 10 Series, but they were being much harder about it.

Took off the FRS badge, dropped in my Invidiai N1 Titanium Tips, and then the Invidia Resonated Front Pipe. Sorry TRD Quad exhaust, I like my old setup better.

By the way, the front pipe did NOT sound good with the quad exhaust. Very gurgle-heavy in a bad way.

just have to say, i don't particularly like the BBS style wheels and i don't like valentis. however, somehow you put them together on the silver FRS and the combination all together looks awesome.

as for the RS1.0, pictures don't do the car justice. i saw it in person and it is way too cool.

Thanks man! I really appreciate it, I tried really hard to make the 10 Series flow.

As for the RS 1.0, here's hoping I make it work just as well!
