E85 is not an option for me because of availability. Right now (in Calgary) the best options for gas I have are Shell 91 (pure 91 octane as far as I have read) and Petrocan 94 (which is E10). I currently only fuel up with shell 91 as I know that should be better for the engine. With a proper tune (or just me tweaking with MAF and timing values) would E10 make more power? I am trying to figure out what my best option for fuel is. Thanks.

The actual ethanol content isn't really going to have much to do with the power you make, it's all in the octane value. In general, 93 octane pure gas isn't going to make any more power than 93 octane E-10, and it's a low enough ethanol content that you don't have to worry about any fuel adjustments.

Just run the highest octane you can get.

So the OFT OTS tunes for 91 and 93 would be E10 91 and E10 93 respectively?

They are already made for 10% ethanol fuels as is the case in most parts of North America, also these tunes were created in California and other places with 91 and 93 in the U.S. with 10% ethanol in all of our fuel.

Been hearing alot of talk from fellow. Subie owners that you should. Just forget shell v power and stick with either husky 94 or that Petrocan 94 you have in Calgary.

Fuel tests by some of the tune shops don't show too favourable on v power. I religiously use husky 94 after being shown the error of my ways on v power with my oft. And now with the stage 2 ofh tune I don't dare use anything less to keep IAM at 1

Find the highest octane you can get if possible for the new OFH tunes.

It almost sounds like if new tune is a bit too aggressive for average petrol quality one sees out there. Imho it's rather worth to detune slightly (tunes are open, after all), then limit oneself to very few fuel stations of higher then average fuel quality, that are possibly placed in inconvenient places/distances.

I absolutely love the new ofh tune and have no problem going solely to husky to fill up on 94 to keep my IAM at 1 and getting that extra 10hp and 5 ft lbs not to mention a much steeper torque roll up at low rpm.

Just keep you ots 91 tune loaded on the oft and keep it in the glove department so you can always go back to a conservative map if you get in the fuel desert so to speak.

With my virtual dyno of stage 1 on stock exhaust and then the latest ofh stage 2 on my tomei uel with invidia op/fp/catback n1 I'm definitely a fan of the aggressive tune and being snobby on fuel.
