Dev Sport Splitter + Winglets

Decided to give the DevSport Splitter and Winglets a shot, as seen here:

http://www.devsportusa.com/DevSport-...-S_p_1112.html
http://www.devsportusa.com/DevSport-...RZ_p_1116.html

Install was a little longer than expected, I had to take off the wheels, move the fender liners out of the way, and remove all the under trays from the front bumper to get to the points where I needed to install the bolts. Plus I had to drill 4 holes, 2 for the winglets and 2 for the front bumper. But otherwise its pretty simple.

Its not a "true" splitter, it doesn't go all the way under the car and only mounts to the bumper not to the frame directly. There are some stabilizers available, but I'm treating this more like a front lip than a real splitter. Looks OK, I plan on adding a few more things to the car that might make it look better. I also might adjust the winglets a little, you can somewhat angle them or not if you so desire due to the bolt hole sizes.

Looks great! Glad to see someone finally post a thread on this product. I just picked up the winglets and I wasn't sure if it would fit with the splitter. Now I might have to get that too!

I'm a bit concerned simply mounting it to the bumper... Seems a bit flimsy but I guess all the cosmetic lips are mounted the same way so it shouldn't be a problem?

Ya all cosmetic lips are mounted to the bumper. Its mounted with quite a few bolts so I'm not too worried.

@Kostamojen

Thanks for posting this. I've had my eye on the "splitter" for a while. I'm surprised that you had to drill for the splitter. DevSport's site does not mention that, and actually states that it is designed for the stock bumper and that it "is pre-drilled to match all oem mounting holes along the bottom of the bumper. All cutouts are made for the use of all clips and mounting points for installing all oem components."

For the winglets they note that two holes need to be drilled, but not for the splitter.

How do you like the quality? The splitter is ABS while the winglets are aluminum. How thick is the splitter? I assume it is solid ABS.

Did it come with install instructions? Also, did you have to remove the wheels for the splitter install or just for the winglets? And is the install hardware decent?

Thanks.

Once you hit a certain speed (100 MPH, give or take) you get some flex but if you don't go flat out you'll be fine.

There are two holes near the front middle that don't match up to bumper holes. I went ahead and drilled and added more bolts with some spacers just for more mounting spots for security.

The splitter is pretty damn thick, like 1/3" thick maybe 1/2". Its pretty solid, but does bend.

No install instructions. I did remove the wheels so I had extra space to pull up the fender. The bolts are long so the extra space does help. The hardware/bolts are decent.

Thanks for the response. From what I gather, the holes they drilled up front were off-set so they would not work, correct? Do you think they just drilled them wrong?

I did not think it would be that thick. That's good IMO. If it were too thin it would probably flex and sag when wind hits it.

Any other tips for the install? I think I'll pick up the splitter.

Thanks again. Car looks good.

The Winglets seem like they have holes in the wrong place and they could be designed to fit without drilling.

They were farther forward than the other holes on the splitter. I figured they might be for extra support if you want so I used them.

Be patient. Get ALL the plastic bits out of the way before you try to install it. Get it off the ground with plenty of room to work. Be patient with all the factory clips. Don't cut yourself on the sharp edges.

It doesnt sit any lower than the bumper, but being farther out means more scraping on slopes. Good news is that they are pretty durable and cheap so if it scrapes no big deal, its cheaper to replace/repair than your bumper.
