Car Keys Not Working *2014 Monogram Series*

Hey everyone

so i got my car about 3 months ago so its relatively new. Anyways I went on a vacation trip and had my car car parked outside under a car cover for 4 days, i come back and the i try using the keys but they're not working. They're keyless keys so I can't manually open the car.

Do you know whats wrong? I'm in absolute panic mode as I have work tomorrow and this is my only ride. I dont think its the battery cos the keys light up everytime I press the button. But nothing works. Locking, unlocking, trunk, panic button... nothing! any help would mean a lot.

You should still have a keyhole in the driver's side door. Your keyless remote has a button on the side. Push it in and you can remove the key from the key fob and use it to unlock your car.

Side of the key has a button. Push it, and a key slides out from beneath. Unlock the door, hold the key fob directly in front of the PTS button, covering half of it. Then push to start the engine (either brake or clutch depressed, depending on M/T or A/T).

Hopefully that works (also try your second key fob normally). If it does, go to your service center ASAP and open a repair order with the service adviser.

Yes that will work for flat batt in key fob, but other likely scenario is car battery is flat due interior light left on or similar.

Time for the jumper leads (or whatever you guys call them). You can "clutch" start the manual with push button start if their is sufficient power for ECU.

Press start button twice WITHOUT depressing clutch car now "on" roll/push car now depress clutch select second gear release clutch (do not touch start button) , all good should start.

Will not work if battery is totally dead but will work if its just not good enough to turn starter motor.

I'm betting the owner's manual was INSIDE THE LOCKED CAR.

You don't even need the manual to realise the key fob has a damn key...

lol yup. I dont read manuals, sorry. just dont have the time for it and would rather not keep my house a mess and end up losing it..

ANYWAYS, for all the people that are nice enough to give advice. the key isnt even working to open up the car manually, so I'm pretty much stuck at this point. Going to try to replace the battery and hope for the best.

If the door key won't work, how are you planning to get the hood open from outside the locked car?

It'll work. Everybody who has this happen has trouble with the lock. You just have to turn it harder. It will give way and open.

i found my spare key which managed to work (strange). got my hood open, and you were right about the battery being dead. but what gives? I checked to see if any of the lights were on and everything was already set to off, should I be concerned about my car dying out from a 4-day vacation?
