This is why hipsters have such a bad reputation.

They must have this Elitist attitude and cant say "I dont know".

To be honest, the funniest part is that everyone just likes everything. I think 1 guy said he didn't really like the made-up band they mentioned. Everyone else is like "oh yea, they rock".

i think you'd get similar responses if you ask questions about the BRZ vs. FR-S.
"you know - i like the BRZ better because it has all-wheel drive, plus the engine has more power from the factory. they make the FR-S with like, less power because they know it's a tuner car and people are going to add a turbo anyway."

I think the VTEC in the FR-S is superior.

Naw man, Toyota GT86 is better because NOT Scion. Their ECU updates have even better VTECK.

God, my brain hurt trying to type that nonsense.

That's cringe-worthy.

But to be fair, you have to factor in the pressure of being recorded and interviewed. Their answers could've been very different if they were talking with their friends in the privacy of their own homes.

We'd all like to think that we're not susceptible to this kind of social pressure, but it definitely affects us to some degree.

the BRZ's selective RWD is the best in its class, the Scion is just a Chinese ripoff of Japanese engineering.

This type of interview happens to a lot of different types of people over a lot of different interview topics. I've seen this with a lot of political and current events topics. It's not something that's just localized to hipsters. I think it's just about people wanting to seem intelligent/in the know when being put on the spot. In that situation saying you don't know makes you seem out of the loop or "dumb" regardless of the topic. People don't like feeling that way and so when approached they would rather try to BS an response.

Also, the interviewers tend to ask a lot of leading questions. Regardless, people should stop trying to "appear" intelligent when they aren't.
