Just joined the FT86 club last weekend!

What's up guys!

So last Saturday, I made my first new car purchase and picked up a 2014 BRZ (WRB) Limited. I've had my eye on this car since before it came out so I'm pretty freaking happy that I finally have one now. Man, my first car purchase taught me a lot in such a short amount of time!

There weren't many new cars in my budget that I'm interested in besides the BRZ/FR-S, so for a new car it was the perfect choice for me. For used cars I would've liked a 2005-2007 STI or E36 M3 but I figured since I'm almost in my mid twenties, I might as well get a new car that should last me awhile with less problems (hopefully). Also, I love the features it has.

Purchased the car from Capitol Subaru and got it at invoice with a free car cover. When I came in they actually had no more WRB's and sold the last one the weekend before but they were able to transfer one from Fresno and brought it over in 2 days. Before this I only test drove the FR-S once one year ago and sat in a premium BRZ once. A lot of non car enthusiasts might think that's crazy to buy a car when you've barely drove it let alone sat in it but I was already pretty sold on the test drive in the FR-S and I knew the BRZ limited would just have nicer options.

Well it's barely been a week and I'm thoroughly enjoying the car even though I'm going through the break-in period. I'm loving the gas mileage and the fact that I commute 6 miles one-way to downtown San Jose, I don't have to worry about gas too much with such a fun car.

Just wanted to say what's up to you guys on the boards. I'll be browsing around here more often now and will probably be more active with less lurking now that I've got my hands on one. Barely been 7 days and all I want to do is mod it.

Sorry if this was a long post :P See you guys around!

Not crazy at all. I sold my STi 2 months before I picked up my FRS. I hadnt sat in one let alone driven one. Kinda hard too though since the car still wasn't released. Haha.

You wont regret it at all. My subi was nice, but had way too many probs to be reliable. Haha

See you around the meets!

welcome and congrats! If you are at all social I highly recommend coming out to the local meets and saying hi. we're all friendly and welcome new members all the time. See some of the stuff we've done, get ideas and tips, really there is a wealth of info you can learn from others, beyond what you can read from just lurking on the forums.

Welcome! I love that color, I was pretty stubborn when looking at the twins and only wanted the WRB Limited... came across a '13 Argento FR-S and simply couldn't pass up the deal and succumbed. Now that I think of it, I probably would've saved money had I gone BRZ considering how many things I'm changing lol.

Welcome! If you can't tell, we are a pretty friendly bunch. My BRZ was also my first new car purchase (I was wondering that this thing called "warranty" was all about )

We got quite the active south bay group, with weekly meets as MyRx pointed out. We also have a group of driving enthusiasts that like to go out on drives on weekends, if you ever are into that (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29572) Come out on some meets, do a drive or a trackday/autox with us and enjoy the new car! Also, great color choice

Thanks a lot man appreciate it. Yeah I've already noticed how friendly and helpful this community is just by lurking (esp norcal cause that's just how we are ). Will see you guys and make an appearance at the meets sometime! I would love to take it on a trackday or autocross in the future after I get more accustomed to the car and break it in.
