Correlation between CEL issue and break-in habits
I'm trying to see if there's a correlation between the CEL issue and break-in habits. Break-in = staying below 4000 rpm for your first 1000 miles. This poll is completely anonymous so please BE HONEST.

I'm afraid this poll isn't going to tell us much, since it doesn't account for other possibilities, such as bad gas. Also, some cars (such as mine) seem to have had the ECU flashed at the distributor prior to delivery. If these cars are included in the poll it will be skewed, since the ECU programming may have been the issue all along.
I voted anyway- followed the break in, no problems at 1200 miles. Mileage so far has been a high of 32.8 mpg and a low of 27.4 mpg. No taillight condensation, and my VIN is past the HP fuel pump issue. |

It's just way to much random and seems to have absolutely nothing to do how you drove it.

Maybe what you should see is how many people have modified there vehicle with after market parts and then got a CEL. |

This is a good poll, no reason not to participate guys. I'm 500 miles into my break-in and doing exactly as recommended by the manual. No engine issues what so ever with only Shell 93 as well.
I do have tail light condensation and crap GPS reception though.

My car had 7 miles on it when it threw the CEL and rough idle started. So I don't see what break-in has to do with this issue.

Well I can drive my car under 4000 rpm and no CEL. The moment I go past 4000 rpm and then let it idle, I get a CEL.

Break-in has nothing to do with it, a number of people had the issue when they drove the car off the lot with less than 50 miles.

I voted "disobeyed", but only because once or twice I went above 4K RPM's. It's not like I went out of my way to completely disregard it though.
