Greetings, wonderful people.
I been occasionally lurking the forums for some time now. Approaching the one year anniversary from the day I bought my car. Currently living in Memphis, TN but I want to move. So far, Dallas, TX is on my radar to move to. I apologize I am introverted in nature but please do reach out if you want to talk. Opinion & help on Dallas & community would also greatly appreciated. I admit I don't have a lot of pictures since I don't feel great hanging around downtown or even midtown. ![]()

I have been using FT86club forums since 2018 when I first got my 2013 Scion FRS. I now own a 2013 BRZ and want to start being more active on the forums as well as documenting my current and future mods. It's good to see how big and active this community still is! Cheers

I see the 1st gen forums may be a bit dead these days, but I have always loved a good forum post so I am going to come introduce myself anyways. I joined this forum back in 2016, but this is my first ever comment!
I have wanted one of these cars since they first came out in 2012, but at the time, I was a teenager looking for my first car. BRZs and FRS's new were way out of my budget, so I ended up getting a 1991 Mazda Miata in 2013, when clean ones were still cheap! I still own that Miata to this day but it's now retired to occasional toy status. In 2016 when I joined this forum, I was looking for something more reasonable to daily, the Miata was small, had no airbags, and I was driving a lot more often and further distances, so I started looking at used FRS's and BRZs. However, I decided to go to college a province away, to an area where is snows a lot, and decided I needed more space to move with, and something better in the snow. I ended up buying a 2012 VW GTI. I loved that car, it got me through college, then once done school and working full time I modified it heavily over time. We went on fantastic adventures, bringing it from 55k Kms to 190k Kms in my ownership of 8 or 9 years. Until sadly, late last year, it was totaled by a driver in a Ram truck running an advanced left turn light. I was able to slow down quite a bit, but he either slid or did not see me at all and hit me with speed taking the whole front end out. Luckily I had a dash cam to show how long my light was green, and it was deemed 100% his fault. ![]() ![]() This brings me to my next car, the reason I am here! The loss of the GTI while sad, came at a decent time for a car change in my life. I work from home now, live in an area with a very mild climate, and don't have kids or other responsibilities. If there was ever a time to try daily driving a sportscar again, here it is! Used BRZs and FRS's have really come down in value, and were popular cars in my area, so I set out to find a really clean one I could afford in cash. I found this 2016 6 speed at a local(ish) dealer, with just 63,000 Kms on it! I have been LOVING it so far!!! The modifications have already begun as I can't help myself, it had headers and a tune on it within the first month of my ownership, and more will happen over time as it makes sense! Excited to see where this car takes me, and so happy to finally get to live out ownership of this platform I have wanted to experience for so long! ![]()
