Emissions advice
I'm moving to AZ from UT.
Utah is pretty strict when doing the emissions testing, regardless of the tailpipe test. I usually can get away with a non-catted front pipe and OEM header, but they really hate a tuned engine. So I usually have to flash to OEM for the inspection. How is the emissions dynamic in Arizona? Do they flag tuned engines? Would the secondary cat delete by denied? I'm sure to some degree the rules are national. |

In AZ for cars newer than 1996, OBDII, they only plug in and look for readiness codes and no cel, no tail pipe sniffer. Or live outside of the 2 emissions testing zones, Phoenix and Tucson metro areas.

So just revert any tunes to stock beforehand. That's significantly easier than where I came from. Thank you

I doubt you even have to revert your tune. It sounds like AZ is like MD. As long as you have no CEL and all of the monitors are "ready" then you're good to go.

I just got my car emissions tested and passed. I have a uel tomei catless headers, jdl downpipe, hi-flow cat jdl midpipe, cat back invidia exhaust and openflash stage 2+ tune.
tbh, as long as you dont have a check engine light on, and your gas cap isnt cracked then you are good to go. |
