Thinking of going lowering springs.. need some input

Hey everyone. I'm thinking the next thing I will do for my car is springs. Mainly because of budget, I can't afford $2000 coilovers. The car is my daily and autox / track toy.

The two options I've been looking at are the Eibach Prokit and RCE Yellow. I was doing a bit of research and am reading that the RCE is recommended for track use. It has ~4.7k springs front and back, where as the Prokit is softer upfront. That seems to be the main difference between the two other than cost.

Just wanted opinions on why people are saying rce is better suited to track use. It also costs a little more.. I upgraded to michelin PSS and ran them at the track. The stickier tires had more grip but I think the suspension setup might be the next weak part of the car. I actually felt a little more confident on the stock primacy paired with the stock suspension seemed like a balanced combo to push and attack slower corners. I'm thinking stiffer springs should go well with a stickier tire?

There are a lot of people that can help more than I can. Just thought I'd throw in my penny's worth

I bought the RCE's, but have yet to install them, so I can't comment on the change. What I can say, is I bought them even though they were a bit more expensive, because of the guys at RCE. Extremely helpful, and patient. They helped me with a ton of advice, only a small bit even having to do with their products. Suspension set up advice, you name it. They took a lot of time with me, with no benefit to them.

I'll support people like that any day.

The main reason that the lowering springs are stiffer is because you have less suspension travel. Stock suspension and springs were designed to work well even with stickier tires. You need much stiffer springs only if you change the tires to a bigger dimension (more than 225) or if you are using semi-slick tires or better.

Did they tell you that stiffer springs means less grip on the road? You should now change the tires to something stickier, but then your car will be less forgiving. It looks that you ignored my suggestions ...

Are you talking to me??? If so, I didn't ignore any suggestion for stickier tires. I've had my car for a month, and it's been in the shop almost two weeks now. Not much time to have upgraded tires. That being said, before it's out of the shop it'll have PSS on it anyway.
