I kinda did the same thing out of frustration. I am being tuned for forced induction, so these wild swings make tuning impossible and likely a little less safe.
So I cleaned the air filter, maf, map and TB all at one shot and it seems to have cleared up. Nothing looked perticularly dirty, but the issue seems to have gone away. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
