Plus limited range and time to recharge. That's why the coming PHEV's are more realistic for most users at the moment. Expect to see PHEV RAV4 and Camry next year.
Depending on where you live and the traction battery capacity, they'll be eligible for up to $10,000 in direct tax credits for a few years until Toyota hits the US 200K unit BEV/PHEV tax credit limit as the law stands now.
