Went for a drive along Lake Crescent in the Olympics yesterday.
They've been improving the road and putting in new culverts for the last year or so.
I was going there for knee therapy and an easy walk to Marymere Falls.
They've got the road repaved with fresh smooth asphalt except for about 30 yards over a bridge near the lodge.
Even there the transition is minimal.
There's a bit of construction materials and shoulder work to do, but the road was open all the way on Thursday.
There are some dropoffs of 4 to 10 inches along the sides but those are exceptions.
In other news:
The Elwa River road is closed at the park boundary due to flooding this winter.
Little River road is fine, though Black Diamond Road has been chip sealed.
It's been swept and is fairly stable, but there are still a few loose chips on a few corners.
