It's really not that easy to bend a drive shaft.

However, I also have a little bit of a hard time believing a scammer will meet up with the person to do a trade in cash.

I don't know why the OP didn't take the seller up on his offer of using the warranty (assuming that offer was really made).

Not sure we will ever get to the bottom of what happened to the driveshaft.
