If Subaru/Toyota were a proper car manufacturer, the valve spring recall would include the complete timing kit and the VVT sprocket replacement.
In my country some cars are returning to Toyota due to high clearance on the valve shimmings because Toyota doesn't adjust the shimmings to the right spec after replacing the valve springs.
The result is a high metallic noise like valve tapping. I guess the recall procedure doesn't include it, so they don't measure it
