The old orange fram filters were known to have cheap internal construction. There was little filter material compared to most if not all other brands, and would often fall apart.
They must have changed up their branding more recently since I didn't see the orange filter available a week ago.
I've been running
amsoil oil filters from the first oil change. I'm lazy and buy it with my oil from a rep around the corner from me. That bulk order of 12 black Subaru filters looks like a good deal, and would last me 5 years lol.
