For the most part the battery in any phone can be replaced, although it may not be average consumer serviceable. It's not like they mold them into the case (although if they did that it would make it even easier).

The problem is once you get to that point most folks think its "cheaper" to get a new phone rather than have the current one repaired for what it cost.

@jawn A new battery for a Nexus 6 can be had for about $40, minus installation but I understand they aren't that difficult to change, although I have not done it.

My current phone (Droid Maxx) is 4 years old and going strong battery-wise.
