Unfortunately, the auto repair industry has co-opted that word to indicate use of a power/vacuum-assisted machine that (typically) hooks up to the transmission cooler lines. Lots of people assume that this is what is happening when you ask for a "transmission flush service." Since that service can harm many transmissions, it is important to clarify this for people, especially since many people use forums like this to learn about stuff. The last thing any of us want is for someone to harm their car because they misunderstood something that isn't entirely obvious (as it uses what amounts to an industry colloquialism).
