Toyota started the Supra-Z4 project, BMW was initially not interested. The car’s wheelbase, Track width, and even tire size were set by the Toyota design team, and BMW tailored their architecture to it. Even the suspension arm lengths were set by Toyota. That weird rear toe-out on compression thing that it does that everybody hates? No BMW does that.
Despite most parts having a BMW logo on them, the Supra is exactly how Toyota wanted it to be, both mechanically and styling.
