Well, I suppose it had to happen eventually if you drive enough.
I got rear-ended at a traffic light yesterday. Some guy(pretty sure under 25) in a beat up Buick that was more peeled clearcoat than anything else bumped me. I didn't see him coming so it felt harder than it turned out to be.
When I felt the bump I looked up and the kid had a look on his face like he'd just run over his mother.
There was no place to pull over where we were, so I just put on my flashers and got out to examine the damage. Turns out, there wasn't any, not even a scuff. He got out of his car and just kept apologizing. I told him "Hey, no problem, crap happens, just be careful".
We exchanged names and numbers just in case, but he still looked very concerned. He said "Man, I'm glad there's no damage, I'd hate to have to pay to fix a $60,000 sports car".
I just grinned and said "yea, that would suck, but no harm no foul" and we went our separate ways. I didn't have the heart to tell him my car was probably only worth marginally more than his.
