The best used parts I've bought were from ebay junkyards

From my experience the key is to buy from sellers that post actual pictures of the part they are selling and not just showing a generic pic of a wrecked car.

On my daily driver I got a used OEM axle for $60 which is in almost new condition (OEM new is ~$500).

I also need a new wheel bearing and ball joint after driving hard into a curb. Got a complete front knuckle complete with bearing, ball joint, wheel speed sensor for $70.

I have had to return parts I got that are junk but even with return shipping and finding a good part its well worth the effort.
