I plan to buy an exhaust system for my BRZ soon.

I do prefer to have control over the exhaust loudness like in my previous BMW. However, I'm inexperienced with car modding in general.

Is there a way to install an electronic exhaust valve control on an after market exhaust?

Should I go to a local shop and get a custom exhaust built with that module? or is it possible to install it on any muffler?

All what I want is to have the option to keep it quiet (so I don't wake people up at night).

If the answer to the above is "NO" .. is it worth installing an after market exhaust for performance gains? or is it purely for sound on these cars?

Before installing an exhaust, I'm getting an OFT + UEL header.
