Will it swap...?

What will be swap-able? No one knows yet, but I for one am eager to see if the new 86 has a swap-able transmission. Considering the new 86 will most likely get the FA24, will the transmission be the same or strengthened?

As someone who is approaching 80k miles and who is boosted, my transmission could use replacing. The gears and/or syncros in my car were already roughened up by the first owner. Fifth gear in particular doesn’t engage smoothly or easily. At a bar of boost, I have no idea if the transmission will hold out for very long, but the transmission is one of the bottlenecks for power upgrades, so if the new 86 has even moderate upgrades to the internals to support any increased torque then that would be nice.

Obviously the engine will be something people look to swap. I heard people mention rim lug pattern. I’m sure any brake upgrades are likely to be swap-able, but I’m not expecting anything. Any interest in the seats if they improve?
