It is a huge load on a corporate network, I can attest to that.
Our company's public wifi/hotspot bandwidth (which is not a low amount) is almost 75% utilized for streaming during business hours. No matter how much we increase it to, that stays pretty much the same. We finally ended up having to throttle streaming (limit the percentage of bandwidth available to it) to keep overall bandwidth at a reasonable rate.
