Are you really of the opinion that there is absolutely no confirmation bias at all on this matter, from
any current owner? It seems that you are taking this personally, whereas I am speaking of the entire population of 1st gen owners that dislike the 2nd gen.
I, for one, am not trying to discredit anyone's opinion, and I think it is fine to dislike the newer car. I am personally neutral on the appearance of the new car, pending seeing it in person and driving it. From the start I have been fascinated by how vehement the negative reaction has been from
some 1st gen owners. Here my comments do appear to apply to you, although not specifically.
