When you lift off oversteer, you are transferring weight to the
front so he was grossly incorrect. I didn't have an AE86 but I did have the MKI MR2 and that car was beautiful due to the lift off oversteer that would allow me to surgically place the car on the proper apex everytime.
Hitting the gas moves the car forward and rotates the car on it's CoG clockwise (if the front is on the left) and thus transfers weight to the back wheels. Slamming the brakes or lifting off, rotates it counter clockwise and thus shifts weight forwards.
