I'd think "terrible resale value" , coincides with if the vehicle has any combination of the following : auto tranny ( in general Manual is the desired transmission on this vehicle) , high milage , lower condition ( something under excellent condition, as KBB states) , and the region that you are selling the car in (not all states / counties result in equal values for a specific car model year/condition / milage. I'd think a state that has snow/ice , and/or possibly sea side (rust will eat metal) would have a lower value. A car in CA / Arizona/ Nevada wouldn't get hit value wise as bad. Yes, there is snow in CA in mountain / upper elevations , but for 99% of CA no snow.
