I mayhaps done it around 6.5+krpm a few times... depends on grip level of the tires but I haven't had a problem ... Yet. Stockers were a hoot because you could burn out for days.

I found that if you let the clutch out quickly but smoothly, rather than a sudden drop, you get the desired effect. Too quick and you get wheel hop. Too slow and you just look really stupid.
