Yeah, the engine will get dirty, which for some is a huge trade off. I do enjoy my stuff keeping somewhat new looking, my old WRX engine bay with the hood scoop looked like poop and suffered a lot of surface rust / corrosion on parts near the air scoop from salt and snow being directly deposited onto that area..
