They considered it in the early Roadster but
dropped it because of issues.
The primary benefit for it, like the upper gears in modern transmissions, is for extending range and increasing top speed. Even so, I seriously doubt anyone will develop a manual transmission for an EV.
More likely it will follow
what the Taycan uses. Even if manual, is a two-speed gearbox really more "engaging"?
