I put in a tankless water heater last year that was supposed to 'pay for itself' and I ended up saving $3 per month. Yeap... pay for itself in 1,000 months Supposed to replace those every 10 years (120 months). That's ok though, I really just wanted tankless to give me more garage space.

I killed the compressor on my heat pump ten years ago. Guy tried to up-sell me but I stuck to my guns about just replacing the compressor. Had to watch him like a hawk. He tried to get away with not evacuating the system. As soon as he figured out that I wasn't falling for it, he went by the book.
Still running perfectly.
