Track Brake Pad Discussion Thread

Brake Pad Manufacturer (F/R): Carbotech XP10

Caliper (F/R):Stoptech ST-40/OEM

Rotor Size (F/R - IE OEM or specify):328MM/OEM

Compound (F/R):XP10/XP10

Tires: Hankook RS3 and Dunlop ZIII

Feedback: Couldn't keep these bedded on the street and they were very loud. Not loud when bedded. The pedal feel is vague under hard braking even though they do not feel like the performance has begun to fade. It makes it hard to modulate the brakes when the tires are hot and starting to get greasy making them feel inconsistent. Seemed to transfer a lot of heat to the caliper.

Scores:

Dusting (1=high-10=low):3

Cold bite (1=low-10=high):7

Hot bite (1=low-10=high):6

Modulation (1=low-10=high):3

Noise (1=extremely loud-10=quiet):2

Pad Lifespan (1=short-10=long): 5 About 12 track days plus DD'ing

Does the brake dust with this combination damage the wheels/paint if not cleaned immediately? (Y/N) No, but left them for a long time on my OEM wheels and they were extremely difficult to clean off.

Brake ducts: (Y/N) No
