Truth is there aren't a lot of options if you don't want it eating up trunk space. I already have problem enough fitting a hockey bag in there, which takes up pretty much exactly 100% of the room, and would constantly push up against anything in there.

Attach the mount in the spare tire well? Or underside of trunk lid. Or get a mount from The Bracketeer
