I don't think you get what you actually need... if you're not already driving to the full potential of the car and setup then you need seat time, not faster tires. Faster tires will give you a tiny plateau of being faster, but if you're actually trying to be a faster driver that's not the best path. If you're not logging data and analyzing it to see where you're losing time, then you're also leaving a TON of time on the table.
RE71R's are actually quicker than some of the older 100tw tires, RA1's, R888R's, NT01's, etc as well.
