Yes, I know. If it were up to my brothers my mom would have been in a home years ago. I was the one always reminding them that we hate that mom wouldn't except help for years, but is still there upstairs. She has the right to make her own decisions, even if we think they are bad decisions.
I am her medical POA, and her wishes are DNR, do nothing. I pray she just goes to sleep one night, watching her tv, in no pain, and forgets to wake up. if she goes back to the hospital, is unconscious, or is at a point she cannot make her own decisions, I'm the one that is going to have to say no help, let her die. That will suck, but that is her wishes and that is exactly what I'll do.
