I'm new to this platform and I am unfamiliar with the specific flex areas of the ft86 chassis, but that brace appears parrot existing structure without introducing any new triangulation and relies on a couple small bolts on one surface. Without plating the inner and outer surfaces, sleeving the bolts to avoid crushing the structure, and through-bolting the brace to the structure, I do not see how that brace can offer more than placebo levels of reinforcement.

In the Fox Mustang community it was common to fully seam weld the chassis and add plates in key strategic areas to increase stiffness. If I wanted to stiffen the upper rail/a-pillar that's how I'd start. (Fox Mustangs are wet noodles compared to these cars, so... yeah).
