I have those "thin padded" pads in my 2013-2014 one.
Hmm, restuffing them with thicker/softer material .. hmm, that might work. Those TRD knee pads are RHD only after all, and do close door speaker. I don't think i'm going that much nuts, nor tires are very grippy (PSS level) but track relatively small with many small radius turns/transitions, and "thin" ones hurt knees significantly enough to start think of some "fix" .
Another idea i thought about, if something can be done to seat itself (idea from browsing this thread about DIY opposite, making seat side bolstering wider to acommodate larger people, where among things he bent upper seat part sides)
