That depends on the manufacturer.
The 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen3 engines found in the Audi TTS, S3 and Golf R are rated at 292hp and 280tq with 91 octane and were pretty reliable.
I met a handful of guys when I had my GTI who were running stage 2 (intake, downpipe and intercooler upgrades) and were putting out an average of 400hp/400tq...on the
stock turbo with no problems for tens of thousand of miles.
