Thank you for everyone's response. It's comforting to know that the dull throttle response is normal and that i didn't get a defective car! But yes, it can be frustrating at time when you are driving at low speeds.

I will keep monitoring the idle situation and go from there. I "think" it's starting to smooth itself out so i am hoping it will get better with time.

As for the gas mileage, i have started to track it in town and the car indicated 8.7L/100km (27mpg) and that is mostly in the city so it's inline with what others are getting.
