I didn't give it much thought until yesterday's visit to my local Toyota Dealer to inquire about a GR86. I finance even when I can buy it outright (don't tie up your money in one place).
6.9% APR! In 2016 I was looking at ordering a WRX. That's when I learned about Heuberger Subaru (the highest volume Subaru dealer in the US)
https://www.bestbuysubaru.com/dealership/about.htm#. At the time they were selling the WRX $3k under MSRP, making it cheap enough to fly out there one-way, pick up the car and drive it home. Granted they're not selling under MSRP in this market, they only had like a
4.1% APR for the BRZ. Even with the marginal extra couple $100 between the two models, that APR silently adds up.
I personally like the look of the GR86 front-end better than the BRZ's, but I forgot that buying from a high-volume dealer was a possible option.
