That's because a camera based mirror has a viewing distance of the screen (a foot for center mirror/a few feet for the passenger side mirror), while real mirrors have a viewing distance of dozens of feet, or close to infinity focal point.
This means that looking at a real mirror your eyes don't need to change their focal point but for a camera mirror they do. The older you get, the harder this focal point shift it. This is fine in low speed maneuvers (like a reversing camera) but not ideal in highway situations. AFAIK the US market is yet to approve a camera only mirror system (they can be integrated into a real mirror and toggle between them), and this is one thing that I agree with (vs. quite a lot of other US-only regulation for cars that don't make sense).
