SSC never got a huge following locally (CalClub SoCal), and I'm deciding whether I should wait for a 2nd gen (DS) or wait for 1st gen prices to go down (SSC, but maybe I'll stay in DS for a bit).

First gen is still in STX for this year which is where I’m at, 2nd gen to STR right now and I think stx is going to be left alone until participation dips significantly.
Every region will be different, if you do National events though odds are someone will show no matter what you pick. The chassis is popular enough.
