From my own experience, and knowing how well the car does in autocross and other events, the lower CG seems to mask those issues and the car overall feels light at the front.

It matters. Particularly if you want to add power, but even at stock power levels, it doesn't help that the outside front is relatively overworked and the outside rear relatively underworked. Overall feel is still quite good, but even with a lot of front camber and rear-biased spring stiffness, I'd like mine to "point" a bit better and to abuse the outside front a bit less...
