Reminds me a bit of Toyota's stillborn RSC prototype, not CALTY's best effort that had Kevin Hunter defending his job.
For $16K-$18K I'd get a 2008+ FJ Cruiser (tuned for regular gas, VVT-i both sides, big power bump and reinforced body-on-frame) with shorter geared 6M/T and dual range transfer case, bolt a TRD S/C on and have a more versatile, durable, powerful alternative. Considering the price and availability of diesel and possibly urea additive along with unkown reliability, I'd be hesitant to be an early adopter of a diesel Hyundai.
