Keep in mind that the lip is almost never flow formed, just the barrel. The only wheel I know of with a flowformed barrel and lip is the Apex FL-5.
Cast wheels are fine IMO, as long as they don’t try to be as light as forged wheels. You add more material to make up for the drop in strength.
